The lower 2 miles with 12 named pools and the tidal estuary including both banks offer exclusive fly fishing for a maximum of 2 let rods.  with good runs of grilse in July and august and a prolific sea trout run (see sea trout page) it can be a testing  little river, a 10ft rod is adequate but can create serious challenges with 10 to 20 lb salmon. the record caught in September 06 on a small rod was 26lb. ( the estate retains 1 rod for it’s own use)
