The river Polla
The lower 2 miles with 12 named pools
and the tidal estuary including both banks offer exclusive fly
fishing for a maximum of 2 let rods. With good runs of grilse in
July and august and a prolific sea trout run it can be a testing
little spate river, a 10ft rod is adequate but can create serious
challenges with sea trout in excess 5 lbs. With the record sea trout
at 9lbs but a netted female of 14 lb caught during research work.
Salmon are regularly caught while fishing for sea trout. Even in low
water sea trout fishing at night can be hugely rewarding
