By road

From Inverness head north on the A9 turn off to lairg on the A836. At Lairg there are two possible routes on the A836 to Tongue or the A838 via Loch shin and Rhiconich Both are approx 110 miles and takes 21/2 hours driving. Both routs involve 50 or so miles of single-track roads. The length of the single track can be reduces by travelling up the West coast to Ullapool but takes considerably longer.

To get to Inverness there are all the usual methods, with a growing airport, train and bus links all within easy reach of the town centre.
